Remanufacturing is the process of restoring an end-of-life, damaged, or defective product to ‘like-new’ condition within a manufacturing environment.

Remanufacturing Process Flow
Reman is an exchange-based business in which core deposits are refunded for each core that meets our core acceptance criteria. Once returned to Caterpillar, the cores are cleaned, salvaged, and remanufactured into Reman finished products.
Salvage Technology – Here are some of the machines we use to thoroughly clean components before the salvage process begins.
Fluidized Bed: Used to remove paint, carbon, rubber, and plastic from ferrous components.
Ultrasonic Cleaning: Utilizes sound waves to clean components thoroughly.
Molten Salt Bath: Removes paint, carbon, and gaskets from ferrous components.
After components are cleaned, they will undergo inspection to determine the type of salvage required.
Cat Reman uses a series of salvage technology from flame spray to PTA welding to laser cladding. Depending on the material deposited, a laser cladded Reman component can be better than new, adding value and longer lifecycle to the component.
